ABOUT THE D CLUTTER QUEEN
How did I get in involved in this D Cluttering Obsession you may ask? Well, I love "being" organized, but what is different about me is that I love "getting" organized too, it's as simple as that! One year when I was moving to a new home I noticed I had an amazing amount of stuff stored away in my garage, on the outside it all looked very neat and tidy, but as I looked through the boxes there was a ton of crap I was never going to use. I opened up a box and realized that for 8 years I had saved a telephone. I mean, why? What was even worse is that I didn't even remember I kept it in the first place!
I decided there and then, if I don’t need it NOW, throw it away, sell it, or give it to charity. The same goes for clothes, I had great outfits I had not worn in years but I couldn’t seem to part with them because I really liked them, “I might wear this one day.” Yeah right, then another year goes by and it’s still sitting there taking up room, get rid of it! If I have not worn something in over a year I give it away.
I also love helping my friends and family get organized. I am known in our circle as the type “A” who is super meticulous. I am always helping someone clean out closets, files, kids rooms, garages, anything just because I love doing it. One day my friend asked me why I don’t have an organizing business and I really didn’t give it much thought. A week later I woke up one morning and said why not? It was the best idea ever. The rest is history…
